THIEF RIVER FALLS AREA COMMUNITY FUND RECEIVES GIFT
The Thief River Falls Area Community Fund (TRFACF) recently received a $2,000 gift from Chris and Jodi Beeson. This generous gift was matched dollar for dollar plus an additional 10% match was made by the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, for a total impact of $4,400.
Chris Beeson said about their gift, “Former governor of New Jersey, Christian Whitman, once said ‘Anyone who thinks that they are too small to make a difference has never tried to fall asleep with a mosquito in the room’. In this region of the state, this phrase registers with us as we have seen the benefits of assisting others with a foundation in life. It results in creating great dividends for individuals, and for the community.”
The TRFACF has replaced the United Way, and will be providing grants to community organizations. The purpose of the fund is to support charitable, education and public purpose projects that will enhance or improve the quality of life for residents in the Thief River Falls area.
